2 for $20

    LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these candles!!!!
When they go 2 for $20 I stock up. Apparently, Chelsea does too! She purchased 8 yesterday...
They are regularly $20 for 1, but every once in a while you can luck out and get 2 for the price of 1!
Everyone loves a bargain, but you definitely get your money's worth. These candles burn up to 65 hours. Not only do they burn FOREVER, but they burn even, and never leave the nasty black residue around the brim. Since we're a fan of flowers around here, I recommend the new scent Flower Shop! It fills your entire home with out being to over powering.
Slatkin & Co. has teamed up with Bath and Body Works, which means you have a huge scent selection! You can even get your favorite B&BW signature scent in candle form...
Take our advice and stock up!

Wedding Gift Of The Day (brides only)!!!!

With Chelsea recently getting engaged, weddings have been on the brain! I'm keeping myself busy by googling all things wedding and learning my maid of honor roles... If you have a gal pal about to tie the knot, like I do, I recommend this gift set from philosophy! I recently had a birthday and my mom got me the "birthday girl" gift set. I'm hooked on philosophy thanks to her and my aunt! The scent is subtle and leaves your skin feeling hydrated. I've also tried the face cleanser, foot scrub, hand cream, shower gel, and lip gloss! Needless to say, I have not been let down. Plus, how adorable is that gift box!?!?!

The pleasures and possibilities of an herb garden.

I didn't realize how much use I would get out of an herb garden until I planted my own. The fresh spices make everything taste 100x better! I currently have cilantro, rosemary, and thyme. The culinary possibilities are endless....
Just to name a few:

Home made Pizza!

Fresh Veggies!

...and Chicken!

Liquid Gold...

FUSSY BABY? We have the solution!
Gripe Water!
Gripe water has been around since 1876, making it one of the oldest natural remedies for infants with colic, gastrointestinal discomfort, teething pain, reflux, and other stomach ailments.
It's personally saved my sanity quite a few times!
Adults can take it too!

How gardening improves your health?

  • Your garden can create a place of meditation, contemplation and relaxation for you.
  • Gardening helps you fight stress.
  • Gardening is a wonderful form of exercise that is good for your body and mind. Researchers compared gardening to bicycling, aerobics, dancing and weight training. Yard work is the best work shown to be significant for maintaining healthy bone mass.
  • You can shed your extra weight by gardening .Weight-bearing activities such as digging and lifting can build muscle, and aerobic activities such as raking, mowing and hoeing can burn your calories.

A sneak peek of my garden!

Saving the world one purse at a time!

Jo Ellen's creative mind put into action... The entire purse is made out of grocery bags and newspaperbags, not only are they trendy, but also durable and "green"!

Just a taste...

Sophia is a little over three and a half months old now, but it seems like she’s been here forever. We are going through lots of firsts with her, some good and some not so good. On the greater side of things, she’s had her first smile, along with her first giggle. On the other side, she’s dealing with her first ear infection (poor baby). I grow to love her more and more every day, much of that probably has to do with the fact that her personality comes out just a little more every day. We have so much more ahead of us to look forward too, and I’m excited to experience motherhood every way that it’s thrown at me.
I’ve developed a trend of taking steps backwards… Boyfriend, Baby, Own a Home, and get engaged. I’m so excited to start yet another chapter in my life, and planning the wedding/party that starts it all. I’m so blessed to have so many wonderful family members and friends to share this experience with, but even more so to have my very best friend and maid of honor by my side to help through the process! Let’s get this party started!

First official cupcake gig!

Today was my first official paying cupcake gig... I was so nervous and trying to make things annoyingly perfect, but I was very pleased with the turn out! I made about 50 cupcakes for a baby shower with a pink/green theme.

Simple Yellow Cupcake recipe:
  • 1cup of granulated
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsps. of vanilla
  • 2 tsps. of artificial butter flavoring (recipe did not call for this or the following ingredient, but I add them in almost everything!)
  • 2 tsps. of creme bouquet (you can pick this up at any cake supply shop)
  • 1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 tsps. of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of milk (I used butter milk)
*** Pre-heat oven to 350 and bake for 20 minutes.
